It's also a corpse exploitation skill, which means it can't be used unless someone dies, and with that 3 second casting time it's probably going to be pipped to the post by the countless other (faster) corpse skills. The skill's biggest problem is who recieves the (minimal) bonus. A target dies, normally miles away from the casters. The only ones who'd get the Energy regen are the Warriors, the frontliners, those that don't actually need the Energy regen, much less the Health regen. That is, unless, the casters move into the Well. Which is just begging to get slapped.

Edit: Are people going to actually discuss in this thread, or is it just going to be page upon page of +1?

Blood is Power, and it's lesser kin Blood Ritual, are both target OTHER ALLY, and both require a sacrifice. So if the Necro also needs energy, WoP is the only way to go.

Of course, there is OoB. It reverses the situation, leaving everyone else high and dry.

I'm also picking up on an strong PvP tone in your reply. You can play GW in PvE too. WoP is tremendously superior to BiP or BR in PvE.

I bought that with faction last night....casters can't do ANYTHING. It's definately the best elite in the game. Unless you want to count Energy Renewal....i've already written it off as it's about to get nerfed beyond practical use.

In PvE, plenty of things are dying, which means that a necro with investment in Soul Reaping shouldn't have to worry about energy themselves. BiP is instant cast, far more energy renewal with proper blood magic investment, and doesn't require the target to stand in a specific place. I don't really see the comparison myself.

Not if there are only 4 people in your party. 5-6 pips for one player for ten seconds but requires a 33% sacrifice, or 2 pips for everyone for 20+ seconds with no sacrifice.

Not even close, WoP. In a 4 man group, the Necro (me) has to DEAL DAMAGE as well as play battery. Which means I am casting Firestorm, SoF, SS and VG. And on top of that I have to be battery for *everyone*, including me.

Plus, you are usually aggroing small groups (to avoid being overwhelmed) so SoulReaping helps, but by no means does it solve the Necro's energy issues.

The warrior does appreciate it, because he can self-heal more, and the extra health regen counters a condition or two.

I'm not even sure BiP would be worth it in this situation if I could self-cast it. The sacrifice is exorbitant in a small party.

Disrupting Chop, by far. I love approaching a monk with it in PvP who claims he's invicible, only to die 10 seconds later because I've disabled two of his most prized skills for 20 seconds...
